Turbine Transition Course
The M1 Turbine Transition Course is designed to introduce experienced pilots to turbine-powered helicopters, and to provide a seamless transition from piston-powered ships to more advanced and commercially viable turbine-powered helicopters. This course is taught in the economical and extremely reliable Enstrom 480B light turbine helicopter.
Our ground instruction covers general information and differences in turbine helicopters, engines and systems. Our flight instruction for this course includes proper start-up/shut-down procedures, power management, maximum-performance takeoffs, autorotations, off-airport maneuvers, and emergency procedures. At the end of this course, the student will be comfortable and competent in skillfully flying a light turbine helicopter, and professional-track pilots will be more marketable to future employers.
